ComSuper merged into CSC on 1 July 2015
ComSuper was merged into Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC) effective from 1 July 2015. The new organisation is called Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation.
There are no changes to your superannuation entitlements, scheme rules, or the services available to you. There is also no change to scheme or employer websites, phone numbers or postal addresses.
ComSuper was the superannuation administrator of the Government’s defined benefit schemes. CSC is the trustee of the Government’s public sector and military super schemes, including the defined benefit schemes administered by ComSuper.
The merger was a decision made by the Government. It forms part of the Smaller Government agenda which aims to reduce the total number of government entities by eliminating duplication and overlap and by simplifying inefficient and complex agency structures.
The Government’s decision reflects that CSC was ComSuper’s sole client for administrative services. The merger provides CSC with control over the administration of the Government’s defined benefit superannuation schemes, consistent with CSC’s regulatory responsibility for this function as trustee of these schemes.
